Come post pasquale quale migliore omaggio che questa "Easter Snow" eseguita da Christy Moore con la sua voce di inconfondibile calore.
"Easter Snow" era il nome dela casa mobile in cui si era ritirato negli ultimi anni della sua vita il musicista irlandese Seamus Ennis, cui la canzone è dedicata.
Christy ricorda:

Ho conosciuto Seamus Ennis nel 1968.Io vivevo nello Yorkshire e lui rimase con me per una settimana, mentre suonava in alcuni folk club. Quando suonavo con i Planxty nel 1972-74, Seamus condivideva una casa con Liam e Michael O'Flynn. Infine avevo l'abitudine di fargli visita, verso la fine della sua vita, quando viveva in una casa mobile nel Naul, Co.Dublin. Durante quelle visite parlavamo di musica e canzoni e condivivevamo con passione le nostre esperienze. Ho scritto questo omaggio dopo la sua morte.

per quel che ho potuto appurare, quesa canzone è stata inizialmente pubblicata come singolo, e poi inclusa nella raccolta "The Christy Moore collection (1981-91)", del 1991. I musicisti sono i membri dei Planxty Andy Irvine, Liam O'Flynn e Donal Lunny.


What a better Easter post than this Easter Song by Christy Moore, performed with his usual warm voice. "Easter Snow" was the name of a mobile home the Irish musician Eamus Ennis spent in the late years of his life. The song is dedicated to him.
Christy remembers:

I first met Seamus Ennis in 1968.I was living in Yorkshire and he stayed with me for a week while he played some Folk Clubs. When I played with Planxty in 1972-74), Seamus was sharing a house with Liam and Míchael O'Flynn. Lastly I used to visit him towards the end of his life when he lived back in the home place in The Naul,Co.Dublin.During those visits he talked about Music and Songs and shared deeply.I wrote this tribute after he passed.

to my knowledge, this song was first released as a single in 1983 and later included in the LP "The Christy Moore collection (1981-91)", rel. 1991. Musicians are Planxty members Andy Irvine, Liam O'Flynn and Donal Lunny.
